AREA to host Season 3 All Star Race at the L.A. Coliseum in Late Models

Today AREA is excited to reveal it’s plans for next Tuesday Night’s Season 3 All Star Race.

For the first time in AREA history, the league will head to the famous Los Angeles Coliseum to host the season’s most popular race. The AREA All Star Race will also introduce a new car to the event, the iRacing Late Model. A short track feel meets a big time event.

Previous race winners since the most recent AREA All Star Race in Season 2 and former league champions will automatically be locked into the 100 lap main event. As per tradition, the AREA All Star Open will take place before the main event to help secure more drivers a spot into the big money race.

The following contains the event structure and drivers who are already locked into the AREA All Star Race for Season 3. (Changes to structure may occur)

 

All Star Race Format:

  • ~40 minute practice (pending how long the open lasts)

  • 10 minute qualify (2 laps)

  • All Star Race (100 laps)

    • Caution laps count.

    • 17 Drivers locked in

    • 6 Drivers from Open

All Star Open Format:

  • 40 minute practice

  • 10 minute qualify (2 laps)

  • 3 Heat Races (10 laps)

    • Caution laps do not count.

    • Take winner from each, everyone else to LCQ

  • LCQ (25 laps)

    • Caution laps do count.

    • Takes top 3
