AREA iRacing Announces Season 7 Broadcast Deals, Charter Market Details, and New Dirt Series Partnership with VDRA

January 8th, 2025 — As the green flag nears for AREA iRacing Season 7, exciting developments are set to propel the league to new heights. Today, AREA announced a comprehensive update featuring the Season 7 broadcast team lineup, key dates for the Charter Market, and the debut of a dirt racing series in collaboration with the Virtual Dirt Racing Association (VDRA).

New Broadcast Partnerships Elevate Coverage for Season 7

AREA iRacing has solidified broadcast deals to enhance fan experience across all series:

  • Cup Series (Mondays): Broadcast exclusively on the idkplayer YouTube channel, reaching over 35,000 subscribers. Jon Ramos and Andrew Schulte will lead production, with Hunter Sleppy assisting as needed.

  • Truck Series (Tuesdays) and Pro Series (Thursdays): Coverage will be provided by Prime Time Racing TV, led by Bradley Dalton.

  • VDRA Dirt Series (Wednesdays): A fresh addition to AREA’s portfolio, the dirt series will be broadcast by SYM TV, with Finian Dcunha at the helm.

Each broadcast will stream live on AREA’s Twitch channel while remaining accessible on broadcasters' YouTube platforms for added exposure.

AREA Expands with New VDRA Dirt Series

In partnership with VDRA, owned by Dawson Miller, AREA will debut a dirt racing series this season. This collaboration represents a leap into new territory, showcasing exciting dirt racing action on Wednesdays. AREA and VDRA will work together on management, cross-promotion, and building the series as a cornerstone for future growth.

Charter Market Opens January 10

The Charter Market for all AREA series will open Friday, January 10, 2025, and close Monday, January 20, 2025. With a focus on transparency, equity, and growth, this season introduces several new rules:

  1. Mandatory Declaration: Charter owners must declare their intent to list charters for sale by January 10, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

  2. Publication of Available Charters: AREA will release a comprehensive list of available charters, including owner contacts, fostering accessibility for prospective owners.

  3. Fair Market Evaluation: The designated transaction period allows all participants to assess the market thoroughly, reducing inflation and promoting informed decisions.

  4. Strict Transaction Period: Any sales outside the January 10–20 window will be voided.

  5. Base Cost for Awarded Charters: Open charters resulting from relegation will have a base cost of $20, with proceeds distributed among returning owners.

The New Teams/Charter Request Period will run from Tuesday, January 21, 2025, to Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Final charter allocations for each series will be announced shortly after.

Returning and New Team Sign-Up Procedures

  • Returning Teams: Teams with over 51% participation in Season 6 are eligible to sign up during the Returning Team Signup Period. Teams may sell spots with AREA Competition Board approval.

  • New Teams: Following the Returning Team period, new teams or teams seeking expansion may apply, subject to a team owner vote OR purchase in the charter market period.

Teams failing to meet participation requirements or finishing last in points may lose their returning team status.

AREA Season 7 – A Year of Growth

With enhanced broadcast coverage, a streamlined charter market, and an exciting new dirt racing venture, AREA iRacing is poised for its most dynamic season yet. These initiatives reflect AREA’s commitment to providing an exceptional racing platform for drivers, owners, and fans alike.
