AREA iRacing Announces Exciting Season 6 All-Star Race

The AREA iRacing community is buzzing with anticipation as the Season 6 All-Star Race approaches. Scheduled for Monday, September 2nd, 2024, this year’s event promises to deliver thrilling action as drivers take to the track at the legendary Atlanta Motor Speedway, using the 2008 version of the circuit in the fan-favorite Gen4 cars.

Who’s In?

The All-Star Race is a showcase of the best talent AREA iRacing has to offer. Automatic qualifiers for this prestigious event include former All-Star Race winners, past AREA iRacing season champions, and any driver who has claimed a victory in an AREA iRacing race since the last All-Star Race in Season 5. The list of eligible drivers and their qualifying achievements is detailed below:

The All-Star Open

For those not automatically qualified, there’s still a chance to race their way into the main event through the All-Star Open. The Open offers three coveted spots in the All-Star Race:

• Stage 1 Winner (first 20 laps)

• Top 2 Finishers in the Final Stage (last 20 laps)

Drivers will have one extra tire set in the pits to manage their strategy during this intense battle.

All-Star Race Format

The main event kicks off with two electrifying 20-lap dash duel races. These heat races will set the starting grid for the inside and outside rows of the main event. However, transfers from the All-Star Open must start from the back in these duels.

The night culminates with a 35-lap main event, where the best of the best will compete for the $100 top prize. As in the Open, drivers will have one extra tire set in the pits, adding a strategic layer to the race.

Schedule of Events

All-Star Open:

• 8:15 PM ET: 40-minute practice session

• 8:55 PM ET: 1-lap qualifying

• 9:05 PM ET: Green flag for the Open

All-Star Race:

• 9:00 PM ET: Practice lobby opens

• ~9:45 PM ET: 1-lap qualifying (following the Open)

• ~9:55 PM ET: Green flag for heat races
