October 21, 2024 —

AREA iRacing announces that SYM TV will no longer serve as its full-time broadcast partner following the conclusion of Season 6. This transition reflects AREA’s evolving broadcast needs and SYM TV owner Kyle Heyer’s shift toward real-life motorsport production, as he balances his professional career and personal life.

Jacob Bell, owner of AREA iRacing, expressed deep gratitude to SYM TV for its invaluable role in the league’s success. "Without SYM TV, AREA iRacing would not be where it is today. From our earliest broadcasts to the incredible events we now host, SYM TV has been a cornerstone of our growth. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with someone as talented as Kyle Heyer and the entire SYM TV crew. Their passion and professionalism elevated our broadcasts to a level we could have only dreamed of."

Kyle Heyer shared the following statement:

"At the conclusion of AREA Season 6, SYM TV will depart all three AREA Series as we reduce our workload.

SYM TV and the iRacing league community have been an enormous part of life for Finian and me these last seven years. For me, it was a gateway to a career in motorsports and a source of community and friendship.

Finian and I have decided to take some steps back from this world while we pursue our careers and find a better balance in our personal lives. For myself, I've been on a self-improvement journey that has seen immense physical and mental change—and I'd like to continue pursuing a healthy balance in my life.

SYM TV will continue fulfilling obligations and reduce our work down to once or twice a week to better allow us to pursue things outside of the sim racing world.

This is not goodbye—we will still be present in the iRacing community, and may even be competitors in the near future. We will also work with AREA to find a suitable replacement broadcast group for 2025 and beyond. Thank you for everything."

SYM TV will remain on board through the conclusion of Season 6, covering key playoff events and the championship finale. AREA iRacing is currently exploring new broadcast solutions for Season 7 and beyond, ensuring fans will continue to enjoy high-quality coverage of the league's events.

“We wish Kyle and Finian all the best as they begin this next chapter,” Bell said. “Though it’s bittersweet to see them step back, we are grateful for their dedication over the years. They’ve helped build something special here at AREA, and we look forward to seeing where their journeys take them.”
