To determine the starting lineup for the main event, AREA 500 qualifying and duel races will be held on April 3rd. For the first time in AREA history, single car qualifying will be introduced, where drivers will attempt a single qualifying lap one at a time, without the help of a draft from other cars.

"We're excited to bring this new format to our drivers and fans," said AREA Cup Series Director Carter Koop. "Single car qualifying adds a new level of intensity and pressure to the competition, and provides an even more realistic and immersive racing experience."

The top 43 drivers from the qualifying day and duels will then compete in the main event on April 10th, where they'll have a chance to win a share of the $200 prize pool. All AREA Cup Series team drivers are locked into the race, with the remaining open spots being filled by the highest finishing nonteam drivers in the duels.

The AREA 500 is a highly anticipated event within the iRacing community, featuring some of the best drivers from the oval sim racing world. Fans can catch all the action from the qualifying day and duels on April 3rd, and the main event on April 10th, by tuning into the AREA iRacing Twitch channel.
