AREA Introduces NextGen, Series Sponsor, and New Dates

Mar. 1, 2022 -

On the first day of March, AREA has announced its official plans heading into its second season on the iRacing platform.

The Cup Series will be introducing the new NASCAR NextGen Cup cars and also will be moving to Monday nights with the first race being the AREA 500 at Daytona on March 28th, 2022. In addition, AREA is also welcoming new series title sponsor Elite Entertainment to the Cup level. “I’m just excited to get the season started,” said Adam Capps, owner of Elite Entertainment. Located just below the series logo, Buttkicker has also found its way into the Cup Series. AREA is proud to announce that the season 2 Elite Entertainment Cup Series champion will also receive a brand-new Buttkicker from our partners.

The change will cause some shift in the typical AREA landscape. With the Cup Series moving to Monday nights, the Truck Series will remain on Tuesday nights, and the Xfinity Series will be moved to Thursday nights. AREA drivers will have Wednesday nights off for season 2. All three nights of racing will continue to be broadcasted live on the AREAiRacing Twitch channel. Series title sponsors for both the Truck and Xfinity Series will be announced very soon as well.

“I felt we needed to make a change,” said Jacob Bell, League Owner of AREA. “We really want to have the Cup Series become our premier series, and by moving the series to Monday nights and bringing in the NextGen car, I feel it gives us the best opportunity to open our doors to more drivers and fans”

Registration for season 2 will open within the next week, with official schedules for all three series coming out very soon as well. Stay connected via our social channels @AREAiRacing.
